The Selection - Kiera Cass So my initial thought was I'm reading an episode of the Bachelor (which I don't watch). As the book progressed it grew on me. I especially like Prince Maxon. I liked that they threw in a little mystery with Marlee and the rebels. I actually would have liked to see more of that, but that is probably just my style.

Overall, the book was okay and I will be reading the second one. It didn't give me warm fuzzies or leave me longing to know what happened next most of the time but it had its moments. It was easy to follow and flowed smoothly. If you like reading YA where the relationships are front and center and there really isn't much adventure or mystery you will like this book. It is definitely focused on America's relationships and trying to figure out what she wants but I really don't feel like it offered more than that.

I'm interested to see what happens in the second book and to see if the minimal mysteries that were thrown in come out more. I would like to see that happen. I guess until then I'll have to wait.
